Medical Valley Brazil is a development program in a joint working team with the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and the Brazilian National Association of Research and Education (CAPES), which establishes a Cluster for Medical Technologies in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The project includes the integration of public and private players in a coordinated and cooperative way, in order to enhance the development and production of high-impact technologies in the health sector. By the support of Medical Valley and the Brazilian state government of Rio Grande do Sul, the cluster activities had a high visibility which resulted until today in a “Cluster of Health Technologies of Rio Grande do Sul” with over 700 registered participants, 200 companies and around 30 start-ups.
